Beijings 161 key scenic areas have received 6.16 million visitors during the three-day Qingming Festival, generating a revenue of 260 million yuan(38.6 million U.S. dollars), both rising by 20 percent year on year, according to local departments.Altogether 60 key retails and catering enterprises monitored by the citys commercial department made a sale of 1.79 billion yuan in total.During the festival, Beijings consumption market presented several characteristics.Firstly, visitors tended to crowd at key consumption places.Secondly, both night-time catering consumption and consumption of tourists from outside Beijing sharply increased, according to an analysis of big data.The big data show that totally 18 consumption places including Xidan Joy-City, the Malls at Oriental Plaza, Livat Center etc embraced a visitor flow increase of over 10 percent.Dongdan business circle and Xidan business circle made a rise of visitor flow of 13.8 percent and 25.1 percent respectively.Whats worth mentioning during the festival is that snacks, beverage and grilled food were the most popular with consumers.The consumption of food at night-time (6 pm to 6 am) made an increase of nearly 50 percent year on year.According to Unionpays big data, inflow tourists in Beijing spent 340 million yuan in total in 16 big categories, like catering, tourism, accommodation and general merchandise, up 23.9 percent compared with the previous year.
